Ryan Galles, Principal

Hello Truckee Elementary Families! I am going into my 24th year in education. I began my career as a substitute at TTUSD. I was also a classroom teacher, principal and district office administrator. I spent 6 years as a 4th-6th grade teacher in Sacramento and then became a principal in South Lake Tahoe. The last 6 years have been as an elementary curriculum director in Vacaville Unified School District. I have 2 sons, 19 and 17 years old. My oldest son, Reid, goes to Chico State. My youngest son, Riley, is going to be a high school senior and is on the Davis HS ski team. I love all outdoor activities, including skiing, snowshoeing , skate skiing, hiking, backpacking and mountain biking. My parents and both siblings live in Reno and I am super excited to be closer to them. I am overjoyed to be returning to an elementary school site because I love the community that is built in elementary schools. I am honored to be the principal at Truckee Elementary. Go Cubs!

Sarah Diprinzio, Assistant Principal

I am incredibly grateful to be the Assistant Principal of Truckee Elementary School each and every day. The staff, students and the community are exceptional. Truckee Elementary is a special place where students are granted the opportunity to create and be part of an extraordinary community--something which I am incredibly passionate about and drew me to want to be the Assistant Principal of Truckee Elementary.

I grew up in Sparks, Nevada and attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where I earned a BA in Journalism and a BS in Psychology. I earned my masters degree from Chico State University in Applied Behavioral Psychology and began working as a school psychologist. I was lucky enough to be granted a position with Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District in 2014 as a school psychologist for the district. I had the unique opportunity to work for a number of the schools in the district and each has their own strengths. In 2017, I was lucky to be placed as Truckee Elementary’s school psychologist and, through a number of fortunate happenstances, was granted the opportunity to be the interim Assistant Principal. It was the best decision I have ever made. In the Spring of 2018, I became the full-time Assistant Principal and never looked back. I love being a part of this community-centered school and couldn’t imagine any other place I’d rather be.

I am so thankful to call this school my home base and lucky that it comes with the most beautiful landscape surrounding it. I am passionate about education and serving the students, staff, and community of Truckee Elementary School the best I can. I pledge to work every day to make Truckee Elementary the best place for students.

When I am not working for our students and staff at Truckee Elementary, you can often find me with my daugther and husband near a body of water with a good book. I love sharing my family with the Truckee El community and you can often catch glimpses of us on our adventures on our social media pages!
